3 c flour
1 1/2 t baking soda
3/4 margarine, softened
brown sugar substitute equal to 2 cups of brown sugar
3/4 t salt
1 1/2 t allspice
1 1/2 t cinnamon
3/4 t nutmeg
2 eggs
1/3 c milk
1 1/2 c chopped walnuts
1 1/2 c chopped raisins
1 1/2 c finely chopped apples
Prehead over to 400. Sift the flour and baking soda together. Combine the margarine, brown sugar, salt, allspice, cinnamon, nutmeg, and eggs in a bowl and mix well. Add the milk and sifted dry ingredients and mix well. Stir in walnuts, raisins, and apples. Drop by rounded teaspoonfulls onto lightly greased cookie sheet. bake for 10-15 minutes or until lightly browned.
Makes 2 dozen cookies
1 cup peanut butter
1 cup sugar
1 egg, slightly beaten
1 tsp vanilla extract
Combine all ingredients, shape into 1″ balls, press with a fork, bake at 325 for 8 minutes.
Immediately top, if desired, with sprinkles, chocolate chips, or chocolate candies. Cool completely on wire rack before moving.
2 T butter
1/4 c cocoa
1/4 c sugar
1/4 c milk
dash salt
1 tsp vanilla
1 heaping T peanut butter
1 1/2 c uncooked oatmeal
melt butter
add cocoa, mix
add sugar, milk, salt, blend.
Microwave for 1:10 to boil
Add vanilla, peanut butter, oatmeal.
Stir and drop onto wax paper to cool.
Dough:
2 3/4 c flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
3/4 c blue bonnet margarine
1 c sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
Icing:
1 egg white
2 c powdered sugar
2 T butter
1/2 tsp vanilla
Cream margarine and sugar til fluffy, add eggs, vanilla, and dry ingredients. Chill dough 24 hours. Roll out and cut with floured cookie cutters. Bake. Do not overbake.
Double recipe makes about 50 cookies.
Icing makes about 50 cookies:
1 stick butter
1 2# bag of confectioners sugar
5 egg whites
vanilla
1 3/4 c flour
1/2 tsp soda
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 c sugar
1/2 c brown sugar
1/2 c butter
1/2 c peanut butter
1 egg
2 T milk
1 tsp vanilla
Bake 375 for 10 minutes.
3/4 c butter-flavored crisco
1 1/4 c firmly backed light brown sugar
2 T milk
1 T vanilla
1 egg
1 3/4 c flour
1 tsp salt
3/4 tsp baking soda
1 1/2 c semi-sweet chocolate chips
Heat oven to 375.
Cream crisco, brown sugar, milk and vanilla. Beat egg into mixture.
Combine dry ingredients, mix into the cream mixture until just blended.
Stir in chocolate chips.
Makes about 3 dozen. Do not overbake!
